32-Bit Float Recording for All
The Zoom H4essential offers an entry-level professional recorder with true 4-channel input capability. With four tracks, advanced X/Y mics and 2 XLR/TRS inputs, creators have more ways to record their music, podcasts, and audio-for-video. This recorder features 32-bit float recording, meaning you never have to adjust levels. The H4essential captures every nuance of your sound ensuring high-quality, clip-free audio in every take.
The headphone / line output can be connected to the AUX input of your marine stereo or PA system. Sound from the external microphone (hydrophone) inputs can be monitored even while not recording--allowing it to be used as a high-quality mic preamp when not recording.
Aquarian Notes: Use with any of our H2 hydrophones. We recommend the H2dX for best connection integrity and highest dynamic range. This recorder will also work well with our PA6 hydrophone preamp. The PA6 will provide very high sensitivity when used with our H1a-BNC, or will provide the appropriate interface for our AS-1 broadband hydrophone.
Zoom H4essential Digital Recorder Features:
- Sound Pressure Level: The 2 XLR/TRS combo inputs feature Zoom’s ultra-clean preamps that supports phantom power and +4dBu professional line level input. The onboard X/Y microphones can capture sound up to a thunderous 130 dB SPL, equivalent to a rock concert.
- Record And Stream: Stream in 32-bit float while simultaneously recording to an SD card. When connected to a PC, Mac, iOS, or Android device using the USB-C Port, the H4essential can be used as a 4-in/2-out audio interface.
- Mix. Monitor. Record.: Use the built-in mixer to easily adjust each track’s audio level. It also has a waveform display so you can see your audio as it records.
- Pair With Your Ios Device: Use the BTA-1* Bluetooth Adapter to pair with your iOS device to remotely hit record, adjust your mix, view your waveforms, and change settings.
- Bluetooth Timecode Sync: With the BTA-1* Bluetooth Adapter you can also pair with Bluetooth timecode devices for audio and video sync. *Please note: BTA-1 Adapter not included
